XLRI, Jamshedpur has got a new chairman. TV Narendran, prior to taking over the new role as the Chairman, Narendran had joined as a member of XLRI's Governing Board earlier this year. He was also the MD for Tata Steel. TV Narendran has replaced HM Nerurkar.

Narendran has been appointed as the chairman of the governing board of the institute.

"Mr Narendran has a rich blend of experience both in the domestic and international business arena. In this era of globalisation, his valuable insights would be greatly beneficial to our stakeholders and he would be looked upon as a role model by our student community," said Fr E Abraham.

XLRI offers courses such as PGDM, Corporate programmes and Fellow programme and research. Admissions to XLRI are based on Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) which is conducted every year.

This year XAT 2015 will be held on January 4, 2015 across 47 cities. Registration process for the same will end by November 22, 2014.

TV Narendran is an IIM Calcutta product and joined Tata Steel as his first organization. He joined with the International Trading Division of Tata Steel from 1988 to 1997 then he moved on to the Marketing and Sales division and then acted as the Chief of Marketing & Sales from 2001 to 2003 and then took the responsibility of Managing Director for Tata Steel.
