An eye catchy debate competition was conducted in the premises of
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, on the topic “the key to India's economic prosperity lies with Asia and not with western countries”.
Vaktavya 2014 was open for students of BBE, BMS, BBS, BFIA only to participate. Though, students from other streams were allowed to witness the event.
Motion of the debate: The key to India's economic prosperity lies with Asia and not with western countries.

Rules and regulation:

Only one team from each college

Each team comprised of three members- two speakers, one speaking for the motion, one against the motion and one interjector

The speaking time for each speaker was 3 minutes, followed by two interjections per speaker. The time taken to answer interjections was not included in these 3 minutes

A warning bell to signify the end

Interjections invited only after the speaker completes

Time given for each interjection was one minute

An interjector interjected upto 5 times only

Cross questioning was not allowed

Each speaker marked on content, clarity, presentation and answers to interjections
