• Only one team from each college
• Each team comprised of three members- two speakers, one speaking for the motion, one against the motion and one interjector
• The speaking time for each speaker was 3 minutes, followed by two interjections per speaker. The time taken to answer interjections was not included in these 3 minutes
• A warning bell to signify the end 
• Interjections invited only after the speaker completes
• Time given for each interjection was one minute
• An interjector interjected upto 5 times only
• Cross questioning was not allowed
• Each speaker marked on content, clarity, presentation and answers to interjections
