Department of Botany of Punjabi University will be conducting a Workshop on Systematics of Plants and Microbes during December 20, 2015-December 26, 2015, which is sponsored by University of Grants Commission (UGC) and Botanical Society of Punjab University.

The workshop will include lecture sessions, practical sessions and field work pertaining to systematics of algae and cyanobacteria, fungi, bryophytes, pteridophytes, gymnosperms and angiosperms. Keeping in view the importance of plant and microbial resources and decline in trained human resources for plant systematics, the present workshop on Systematics of Plants and Microbes has been proposed. The workshop will focus on the traditional and modern approaches to systematics.

Potential Participants:

The workshop is meant for the researchers, teachers working in colleges and universities and biologists who are interested in the field of Plant Systematics. The maximum intake for the workshop will be 40 and the participants will be selected by a committee constituted for the same.
