By honouring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative towards celebration of Yoga Day on June 21, 2015, the nation has come together and celebrated the day with earnest zeal.
Most of the DU colleges organized camp and yoga activities. “A Mass Yoga Demonstration” programme was organized by
Delhi University on Yoga Day. Following the same
Bhagini Nivedita College had also participated and conducted two day campaign for yoga classes.
Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin over 6000 years ago in India, aims to integrate the body and the mind. The declaration of this day came after the call for the adoption of 21 June as International Day of Yoga by PM Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
This is the first time that yoga day will be celebrated in 192 countries. The event is expected to be a remarkable one and is trending the social media too.
