WELCOME TO ARMY INSTITUTE OF LAW The Army Institute of Law (AIL) was established in July 1999 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) at its interim location at Patiala. In July 2003, the Institute shifted to Sector 68, Mohali. On December 1, 2003, the Mohali Campus was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India. The Institute is affiliated to the Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by the Bar Council of India. With 'Aspire & Achieve' as its motto, the Institute has grown as a Centre of Excellence in the field of legal education. The Institute is accredited grade 'A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). AIL has a magnificent residential campus in an impressive architectural structure in the vicinity of Chandigarh and Punjab & Haryana High Court. It conducts a five year BA.LLB and one year LL.M course.

College Facility

Classroom

  • Army Institute of Law (AIL) provides Multimedia classrooms which are equipped with LCD projectors with multimedia compatibility for improving the effectiveness of class room discussions.

Laboratory

  • AIL has a well-equipped computer lab for all students. With 24-hour power backup and LAN system, the lab of the institute is kit out with 50 computer sets which are used by students to do projects, seminars moot and other research work. The computer lab of the college is sizeable, air conditioned and can accommodate 50-60 students at any given time.

Library

  • The library of the institute increase the knowledge of the learner by imparting various kind of books, journals, magazines, CD-ROMs and Subscribed law sites through leased line Internet connectivity.

Hostel

  • Institute hostel is a second home for the learners. Hostels of the Institute are well kit out with necessary amenities. Institute has separate two hostels for both girls and boys. The hostels of the college are managed by a warden and in case of their absence, by the CRS or the College Representatives. The hostels of the college accommodate more than 300 students. All the rooms of the hostels are double seaters and single seaters.

ExtraCurricular

  • Regular personality development workshops. Regular seminars, workshops and conferences.

Placement

AIL has a dedicated placement cell, which is managed by a team of highly dedicated student coordinators who are chosen from the senior batches. The placement cell of the institute trained its learners through counselling, practical advice from in-house experts as well as from professional experts. The AIL Placement Cell arranges in-course placement with law firms, lawyers, Judges, NGOs and corporate houses, according to students' choice and their field of interest. The placement cell of the college believes in overall development for which they provide internship in premier law offices, NGOs, lawyers, judges, corporate houses- both national and international. Through internship learner gets real work experience and makes them competent for the law domain.
