Bhima Institute of Management and Technology (BIMAT) was established in 2010 with the aim to create an environment with equal focus on both teaching - learning and  research & consultancy, to undertake research projects in collaboration with industry, academia and government, to motivate the faculty and student for higher education and also to provide consultancy and testing services to industries. The Institute has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. BIMAT is focused on strengthening the ties among leading and emerging scholars and institutions in India and the world, to develop and cultivate a research and development agenda for the field.
