The Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai was established in the year 1961, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Recognising the pivotal role played by the Institute in Human  Resources Development in fisheries, the Institute was accorded the status of Deemed-to-be-University in March,1989. The CIFE has been accredited by ICAR for five years from September, 2007 to August, 2012.

Laboratory

  • The Institute has well-developed computer facilities. Every student has access to computer and internet for academic matters.

Library

  • The library shall remain open on all working days from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Counter for issue and return of books and serials shall remain open only from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all working days. Overnight issue of reference books to users shall be made only one hour before closing time of the library on the last working day of the week.

Hostel

  • Hostel Facility is available

  • Special programs and lectures are arranged from time to time for the personality development of post-graduate students. Several competitions like elocution, debate, essay writing, etc. are also organized.
