The Cochin College is sponsored by the Cochin Education Society which was founded as a result of the joint efforts of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and the former Mattancherry Muncipal Council. The college is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It offers Bachelor and Master degrees in both Science and Humanities at the degree level such as Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Commerce, Economics, English Literature and Maths.
