Department of Applied Geology, Indian School of Mines University (ISMU) has smart and interactive classrooms well equipped with LCD projection systems and Wi-Fi enabled.  School also has an air-conditioned audio visual hall where guest lectures’ and seminars are organised.

All departments have well equipped laboratories. The computer Center caters to the computing needs of the faculty members and students. The Centre has number of state of art servers apart from Pentium PC's. A completely automated library havind a CD/DVD mirror server,a database file server and an internet web server. The Library provides access to nearly 3000 full text,full image worlds, most popular scholarly online journals to it's faculty members and students funded by Ministery of Human Resoursce Development, Govt. of India and AICTE.

The varsity is providing hostel facility to most of the students on the campus.

Apart from academics department organises various events such as Srijan, (Annual Technical cum Cultural cum Management Fest,ISMU Dhanbad), Muqabala (All India Inter Technical College Day-Night Cricket Tournament), Sparx (Annual Technical Fest organised by IEEE Student Branch, ISMU Dhanbad) for the holistic development of students.
