Department of Biotechnology, University of Calicut was established in 1995 with financial assistance form the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to conduct post-graduate programme in Biotechnology. The main objective of the programme is to develop human resource to meet the growing demand for biotechnologists in the field of food, agriculture, medicine and environmental management.is offering course master of science in Biotechnology, Master of technology and Doctor of philosophy.
