Department of Botany is a part of Gauhati University. The department is pioneering in developing human resource in NE India and looking forward to shape it as a Centre of Excellence in Botanical Science and usher the Plant Science education and research in this region. The Department has been selected by the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India for Financial Assistance under its Infra-structural Development for Science & Technology.
