Department of Botany is affiliated to University of Jammu. The University of Jammu, accredited as 'A' Grade University by National Assessment & Accreditation Council of India. The Department was established to train the students desirous of learning, understanding, teaching and practicing various aspects of plant sciences. Courses were designed to take care of both the classical and contemporary aspects of Botany.
