Department of Botany, West Bengal State University started functioning since the inception of this university in 2008. The department is an integral part of the School of Life Sciences consisting of the departments of Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Human Physiology and Zoology providing an emphasis on the interdisciplinary approach towards teaching of Life Sciences at Post-Graduate levels.
