Department of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Engineering is the part of Tezpur University. The Department of Computer Science and the Department of Information Technology were merged and renamed as Department of Computer Science and Information Technology. The Department was established with the aim to contribute towards research in the field of Information Technology and to fulfill the increasing demand for highly qualified manpower in the field for Industries as well as academic institutions.

Laboratory

  • All of the computer systems in the department are interconnected by a switched Ethernet local network, which is connected to the Internet via fiber optic technology to the campus backbone. The department has seven main servers, six of which are linux (7.2) based, running on PIII and PIV processors, and one windows NT based running on PII.
