Department of Economics is established by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. The department is conducting many research studies in the areas of regional development, agriculture and industry, banking and finance and gender related issues. The department of Economics is actively contributing in regional development through capacity building of students, researchers, planners, and social workers. Postgraduate studies and research facilities are available in the Department. With the collaboration of many national and international research organizations like National Institute of Administrative Research, LBS National Academy of Administration Mussoorie, National Council for Agriculture and Policy Research, New Delhi, Research and Information System for Non Alignment and Other Developing Countries New Delhi and Indian Council of Social Science and Research New Delhi.
