Department of Environmental Science is a part of Gauhati University. Environmental Science is being recognized now in our country as an emerging subject that has both academic significance and societal relevance. In the North Eastern region, the Department of Environmental Science, Gauhati University is the oldest one of this kind, and teaching and research in the subject are being conducted since its inception.
