Department of Genetic Engineering, SRM University is a part of SRM University and approved by NAAC. The department aims to produce genetic engineers who excel in the field of genomics and gene manipulation. Towards this end, the department has brought together state of the art laboratories and a highly experienced and dedicated team of faculty.

Hostel

  • There are separate hostels for men and women on the campus, with all the necessary facilities. Among the hostels on this campus, 9 are dedicated for men and 6 for women. All the hostels are well-equipped, with adequate ventilation and lighting facility. Each room is fitted with tube lights and fans, and each student is provided with a cot, chair and a table. Periodicals and newspapers are supplied to each hostel.

Placement

Placements are very good here. The college does have a good record for placements and claiming 100% for some batches. The average package got by students here is around 3- 4 Lakh per annum. Few of the students do manage to bag bigger and very high paying offers too.
