Department of Geology was establish under Aligarh Muslim University. Since then the department has made tremendous progress in all its spheres including teaching, research, field training, library and laboratory facilities. The Department is recognized as one of the leading centers of sedimentology in the country and is the Headquarters of Indian Association of Sedimentologists.
