Department of History was introduced in Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. Since than, the Department has developed as a centre of teaching and research in the  different areas of History and Archaeology particularly focusing on Uttarakhand Archaeology. The Department right from its inception has carried out an extensive research on and also archaeological exploration and excavation programme in the Central Himalayan region.

  • University Grants Commission has been providing financial assistance to Universities for setting up Computer Center as a Central Facility for the growth and development of teaching research other related activities in addition to the work relating to the administration, finance, admission of the university, etc.

Library

  • The Central Library is a Knowledge and information Centre which has rich resources in Social Sciences, Humanities, Management and Sciences. A few collections exists is various disciplines of the University along with the Central Library. The Library has a total collection of 1.38 lakhs, which includes books, serials, non-book materials etc. which have been placed at the Ground Floor. The collection is housed subject-wise on ground floors under four major streams i.e. Social Sciences, Humanities
