Assam Down Town University, is run by down town charity trust which was formed in 1997. The down town charity trust is promoted by down town hospital ltd, it has a distinguished name in the healthcare industry. Today, the university offers  almost  50 programs and has almost 2500 students from 10 indian states as well as neighbouring countries of Butan and Nepal. The university is committed to quality education. It has been recognized by university grants commission (UGC), All india council tor technical education (AICTE). The trust envisages that in th next ten years it can establish one consolidated campus offering almost all available programs to the students of the North East region. Thus, help is saving brain drain from this region, it believes this will greatly help in improving the quality of human resource in the country.
