The School of Peace, Conflict and Human Security Studies (SHS) is part of the non-traditional programmes envisaged at Sikkim University. The Department of Peace and Conflict Studies and Management is one of the five departments at the School. The departments in the SHS are expected to focus, with their respective orientations and methods, the School towards the various challenges that emanate from the local, national and the global levels in order to provide a comprehensive and intense engagement with the challenges to human societies. The department strives to encourage students towards critical thinking about the social and political world and to turn them into sensitive citizens, conscious of the complexities of the globalised world and the educated maturity to contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
