Department of Physics was established as one of the science .Departments of the Birla Government Degree College, Srinagar (Garhwal) and was upgraded to the Post Graduate Level in 1972. In 1973, Garhwal University was established. University took over Physics Department as a centre for UG, PG, teaching and Research activities in physics under its constituent set up.

  • University Grants Commission has been providing financial assistance to Universities for setting up Computer Center as a Central Facility for the growth and development of teaching research other related activities in addition to the work relating to the administration, finance, admission of the university, etc.

Library

  • The Central Library is a Knowledge and information Centre which has rich resources in Social Sciences, Humanities, Management and Sciences. A few collections exists is various disciplines of the University along with the Central Library. The Library has a total collection of 1.38 lakhs, which includes books, serials, non-book materials etc. which have been placed at the Ground Floor. The collection is housed subject-wise on ground floors under four major streams i.e. Social Sciences, Humanities
