Department of Psychiatry, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University offers education in the field of Medical. The department has recently received approval for the increase of the number of MD Psychiatry seats to a total of ten each year along with the commencement of new courses in M. Phil Clinical Psychology, M. Phil Psychiatric Social Work and Diploma Psychiatric Nursing.

  • Computer facility, biochemical lab, EEG lab and psychological lab are also functional in the Department.

  • The library's present collection consist of 30358 Medical books, 30500 back volumes bound journals and CDs of 119 important medical books. The library is currently ( year 2008 ) subscribing to 89 print journals and 104 e-journal (WLL CORE journals) in addition to general non medical books reading section.

  • The university provides hostel facilities to the students.

ExtraCurricular

  • The Department of Psychiatry has organized national level conference of Indian Psychiatric Society in 1992 and Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists in 1994. Many national workshops and zonal conferences have also been organised.
