Department of Statistics is affiliated to University of Jammu and accredited as 'A' Grade University by National Assessment and accreditation Council of India. Department aim of providing quality education in the field of Statistics to develop the subject of Statistics with its application and usefulness to the society to provide qualified Statisticians for the Economic, Social, Administrative, Planning and Academic Development of Society. Presently, the thrust areas where research is undertaken in the department are Econometrics, Reliability, Information Theory, Population studies and Statistical Inference.
