The Division of Oncology was created in the Department of Surgery, CSMMU, Lucknow by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Oncology Division established itself as a centre for excellence in academics, research, training and clinical service. It has over the years shouldered the major responsibility of providing tertiary care for cancer patients from Uttar Pradesh, the neighbouring states of India and Nepal. The Department of Surgical Oncology is recognised by the Medical Council of India for the MCh Surgical Oncology training programme.
