The Department of Jainology and Prakrit was established at the University of Mysore. The Department was first attached to the Institute of Kannada Studies, though independent in having its own Board of Studies and Board of Examiners. Post-graduate courses and diplomas were conducted in Jainology and Prakrit language.

College Facility

Laboratory

  • University Computer Center was established in the year 1980 under University Grant Commission (UCC), New Delhi, and Primarily to promote the research activity in the university. The center facility has been upgraded from time to time by installing latest computer system catering to the computing needs of the faculty, Research Scholars, students and university administration.

Library

  • Mysore University library is one of the oldest and largest University Library in the country and Mother of other University Libraries in Karnataka. The Library started functioning in the year 1918. It has a glorious record of 91 years of worthy service with a resource collection 6 Lakhs volumes in its systems today. The inception collection of the library was around 2311 books which was housed in Jubilee building and later moved to Maharaja’s college campus and finally the library shifted
