Dhar Polytechnic college is under world Bank Assisted Project. Initially only one branch i.e., Manufacturing Engineering was started. In 1995 two more branches Mechatronics and Industrial Electronics were introduced. All these branches are of four year duration and are based upon sandwich pattern. The curriculum of these diploma courses is designed as per the need of growing industries. In 5th and 8th semester student have to undergo 16 weeks industrial training so as to give them idea about technical knowledge required in industry and to give them a feel of its environment. All these program are recognized by AICTE and are running only in Dhar in M.P.
