Dr. M.V.Shetty Institute of Technology is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Dr. M. V. Shetty Memorial Trust was instituted in memory of Dr. M.V. Shetty, M.S., FRCS, FRFPS (1917-1976) was an eminent Surgeon and Professor of Surgery. He was also a Commandant of Home Guards and Director of Lions Artificial Limb centre, Mangalore. Recognizing his meritorius service in the filed of health to the society, Dr. Shetty was awarded President's Gold Medal at the 28th Republic Day Celebrations. In his memory, the Dr. M.V. Shetty Memorial Trust (R) was founded in the year 1985 by his son Dr. M. Ramgopal Shetty, MS, FICS, FICA.,Vascular Surgeon, Mangalore. The Trust is dedicated in continuing the noble work started by the visionary to impart quality education in the field of health sciences and rendering health services to the needy people of the society. Now the trust with the objective of giving technical education to the rural needy people, has started an Engineering College at Thodar, Moodabidri, Mangalore.

  • The institution has a spacious library with a seating capacity for 150 students. It has 7276 volumes of books with 2252 titles, 47 national and 21 international journals are available in the library. The library has reprographic facilities.

Hostel

  • A separate hostels facilities for boys and girls.
