Faculty of Education, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi is affiliated to A U.P. State University. The College offers Bachelor's degree courses. The department was the first department in the country to have launched a full-fledged course in action research as also in environmental education at the B.Ed. level. Needless to mention that these courses have now been accepted by the NCTE thousand student teachers have received formal training. This course is aimed at orienting the pre-service teachers to the methodology of action research for understanding and improving the grass root level reality contexts of teaching and learning.
