Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology was established in the year 2006 with the aim to be a leader in providing quality education and training in Engineering, Technology & Management. The college is committed to enable maximum learning by providing intellectually inspiring environment of learning, research, creativity, innovation and professional activity. It is the first Institute to offer degree level technical course in the State in the non - government sector. The college is established with prior permission from the State Govt. and approval from the AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Gauhati University.

Laboratory

  • The Central Library occupies total floor area of more than 500 sq. m. There is a spacious reading room to accommodate at least 150 persons for self-study. The functioning of the library is computerized. The library is equipped with on-line Journals for the benefit of the student and the faculty. The Library is stocked with an adequate number of latest edition text books. At present the Library has more than 11000 volumes of books.

Hostel

  • Hostel facility is available in college.

ExtraCurricular

  • In January 2009, the college organised the annual sports and cultural festival. The various sports and cultural events held during the festival helped the GIMTians to recharge their energies for carrying out academic activities with renewed vigour, once the festival was over. The famous New Delhi based band Euokoria's performance was the star attraction of GIMT's annual cultural festival christened as "EUPHUISM '2009". Students enjoyed the evening to their heart's content

Placement

The Institute has a training & placement cell that is actively involved in building an interface between academia and corporate houses by organizing various seminars, pre-placement talks,work-shops,training programs, summer placements,etc. The Training and Placement Cell maintains a close liaison with the Industry and other employers in order to facilitate the placement of the students. It handles all aspect of campus placements for the students at GIMT.
