Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, Kolkata was established in the year 1938. The college has been named after Gopal Krishna Gokhale, a well-known teacher, educationist and a freedom fighter. The college provides quality education with experienced faculty members. Ever since its inception the college has become one of the premier educational institutions in India. The college offers bachelors’ level degree programmes in various Disciplines. Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College is the first college to be affiliated to teach Psychology by the Calcutta University in 1957 in the Three Year Degree Course.
