Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai imparts an education that takes learner into the world of knowledge, Loyalty, Sincerity & Integrity. GLC College came into existence in 1855 and it is the oldest law college in Asia affiliated to University of Mumbai. GLC, which has a great legacy, is a ware house of knowledge in legal province and also leaded by some of the dab handed legal luminaries such as Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, Lokmanya Tilak, Justice M.C.Chagla, Nani Palkhivala and several others who have adorned benches of the Supreme Court of India and the Bombay High Court. The objective of the college is to understand the Indian legal system and lawyers' principal roles in that system.
GLC College has 17 classrooms, a Mooting Room, an Auditorium; an audio-visual room classroom, which are fully air-conditioned and well equipped with all modern audio-visual instruments like projectors, whiteboards, Wi-Fi connectivity and Public Addressing Systems. The facilities make learning conducive for the students and provide more practical knowledge about their programmes.

The Government Law College library has a bountiful collection of books and treatise on various subjects not limited to law. It is probably the most frequently visited section of the college, and most certainly the haven for the dedicated law students. The Harilal J. Kania Memorial Library and Reading Room located on the third floor of the college only has been a part of this college since 1952.
GLC don’t has dwelling facilties but college provides 62 seats for male students of the College in the Government Colleges Hostel, “C” Road, Churchgate and 20 Seats for male students at the Ismail Yusuf College at Jogeshwari.
