Govt. College of Engg. and Textile Technology, Serampore, is one of the pioneer institutions in India in the field of Engineering and Technology. The college was formerly known as College of Textile Technology, Serampore and it was established in 1908. This Govt. institute is at present under the control of Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of West Bengal and affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology and accredited to AICTE. The institute offers courses of study for Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology.

College of Engineering and Textile Technology Library has a collection of 12,000 documents including books, journals, reports, proceedings, pamphlets and lab-manuals etc. covering the subject fields of Information Technology, Textile Technology and Computer Science and Engineering. Hostel

  • The college has four storied well-equipped hostel building within college campus. Hostel accommodation is available depending on the availability of the vacant seat. The hostel and mess of the hostel is run by a hostel committee consisting of Superintendent, staff member and students.

The institute has its own well maintained campus placement cell. The cell provides campus placement to their best after the completion of the course. Not only this the placement cell also provides a well grooming session for the final year students who are going for the campus drive.
