Government Polytechnic, Ambala which began as Government / Industrial School in 1929 & later on developed to Metal Works Institute in 1933, was recognized in 1948 & was thereafter known as Government Technical Institute, and it offers Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Plastic Technology Engineering, Mechanical Engineering ( Part Time), Electrical Engineering (Part Time) and Architecture Assistantship Engineering.
