Govt. Degree College Sopore is affiliated to University of Kashmir. It is the biggest co-educational institution in the valley of Kashmir. The college caters to the educational needs of lower-middle and poor class urban families in the town of Sopore and the surrounding areas. The college emblem is “MINNAL ZULMATIILLAL NOOR” meaning thereby “from darkness to light”. The college runs three degree programs in Arts, Science and Commerce. In addition, it has started one three month Certificate Course in Computers under self financing scheme.
