Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya is accreditated by NAAC with A grade. This is the oldest University of Chhattisgarh and celebrated Golden Jubilee on 14th October 2006. University is situated in the Central Part of India in Chhattisgarh at Khairagarh. Khairagarh is surrounded by three rivers and provides a tranquil and serene atmosphere to the student-artists. The campus of this University presents a rare example of fraternity and brotherhood. Teachers and students of different Faculties are from different parts of Country and various cultural backgrounds. Their presence at the campus makes Khairagarh town a real heterogeneous place.

The University Library was established in the year 1958. This is a unique library in the country devoted primarily to the study and research on Indian Classical Music and Visual arts.
