Institute of Health Sciences, a pioneer institute in the state of Orissa,It was established in 1999.It is a non-government, non-profit charitable society. Institute is dedicated to the welfare of the disabled and development of the rehabilitation and health sciences in Orissa.  The courses are recognized by the Government of Orissa, affiliated to Utkal University and approved by the RCI, New Delhi .

College Facility

Laboratory

  • The Laboratory contains acoustic and spectrographic analysis of voice is done for diagnosis of voice disorders using Doctor Speech. For evaluation of lung function computerized spirometry is available.

Library

  • The Roupya Memorial Library of the Institute is a reference Library for the trainee students. There is a comprehensive collection of books, journals and periodicals converting all the technical subjects. The collection is continuously improved by addition of latest on the topics of interest. Internet facility is available to the students for browsing the web to get latest informations.

Hostel

  • The trainee students under IHS are accommodated in separate hostels. There are two boys hostel and one girls hostel near the IHS campus and these are managed by responsible staffs of the institute.

ExtraCurricular

  • Institute had conducted the Conference of Autism in April,2007, which was attended by Audiologists, Speech Pathologists, Paediatricians, Psychologists, Special educators, Occupational therapists and parents of children with Autism.IHS had conducted public education program on Cochlear implant for the hearing impaired. A seminar was jointly organized with Panda Medical centre on Dysphasia management. Samantha Eckman from St.George Hospital, London, conducted the seminar in which ENT specialists,

IHS has placement cell in campus to provide the various career options available to the students and sufficiently trains them to choose and pursue their careers of choice.The department of Training and Placement also provides seminars , workshops ,soft skill training etc.
