Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition Bhopal, is one of the pioneer Institutes in the nation supported by Government of India, Ministry of Tourism for the general advancement of Tourism & Hospitality Industry. This Institute came into being w.e.f. 01.04.1986 which is intended to prepare young people at Supervisory and Management levels of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition to give experts to the Hospitality and other associated Industries. The Institute began working at Diploma level with an admission limit of 40 understudies which has following expanded to 180 understudies. We have a very much prepared foundation to confer preparing in an expert way and outfitted Hostel offices (for Boys & Girls) to suited the understudies.

The curricula of Under Graduate programe incorporates theories with hands on training where students are given the opportunity to gain knowledge of International standards and learn the skills necessary for a competitive industry performance. Students are provided with applied knowledge through state of the art facilities and equipment by the institute’s experienced, trained, skills dedicated and competent faculty.
Institute has produced over 3500 graduates in vivid positions in the Hospitality Industry all around the globe.

Institute has an Audio Visual Room equipped with LCD Projector and other latest state-of-the-art equipment to show films. Students are also encouraged to produce training films as part of their projects during the Final Year of study.
Equipped with 40 terminals on a Local Area Network with the latest multi-media systems with Internet connectivity. Students have hands-on experience with HMS and application packages.
All the food production labs are fully equipped with indigenous and imported equipment.
The Institute has a well-stocked library with the latest books, periodicals, journals both national and international covering all aspects of Hotel, Tourism, Hospitality, Travel and Management. The library also has a good collection of Video tapes on all aspects of management and hoteliering which could be viewed by the students. The Library has multi-media resources enabling students to access Internet and students are encouraged to use free E-mail facility.

IHM, Bhopal conducts all India Students Chef Competition for consecutive two years. Semifinals round in 2001-02 and complete competition in 2002-03 with a participation of around 20 Institute of hotel management from all over India. Participated in all food festivals organized by Department of Tourism Govt. of M.P. and at Pragati Maidan New Delhi organized by Ministry of Tourism representing Institutes of Hotel Management as well as in Ahar Festival at Pragati Maidan organized by the Culin
Institute has a record of 98 percent overall placement for its passing out students every year. Out of this 83 percent placement are through Campus Recruitment process. 15% goes for Higher Studies in India & abroad and the rest of 15% seek self employment.
