Jorhat College (Amalgamated) is an undergraduate College of Co-education specialising in the humanities. Besides a two year Higher Secondary Course, the College offers a three year Degree Course with the facility for Major in as many as eight subects, viz., Assamese, Economics, Education, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology. The College also offers a vocational subject called Functional English and three career oriented add-on certificate courses of one year duration in Translation Proficiency, Tourism and Applied Sociology for for the T.D.C. students. A self-financing short-term course in computer application (D.T.P./Office) is also run by the College for the benefit of its students. Affiliated to the Dibrugarh University and accredited by NAAC, the College, comes under the U.G.C.'s regulations 2Fand 12B.
