Katihar Medical College is fullfillng the medical needs of the Kosi region in the north of the state of Bihar because the area has lack of medical & education facilities. The Medical College was incepted in the year 1987 and managed by the Al-Karim Educational Trust, Patna. The campus of the college is extended in an area of 6, 00,000 sq.ft. Katihar Medical College is a Postgraduate College offers various facilities like Modern Operation theatres, Radiology with CT scan, Microbiology, Pathology etc.

The library of the medial college is a warehouse of knowledge set up in the main building and covers an area of 5000 Sq.ft. The library of the college is well fitted out with latest amenities which include separate reading rooms.
