Kunhali Marakkar Centre for West Asian Studies and Indian Ocean Studies is a part of University of Calicut. The Department has been offering M.A in Political Science. UGC’s Area Study Programme” Indian Ocean Studies” and the “Chair for Maritime Studies and Research”, funded by Ministry of Defense ( Indian Navy) also come under this Centre. The Programme is designed to equip the students to meet the requirements of Civil Service Examinations, advanced research in State and Society and Area Studies, is offering course Master of arts in political science, Master of philosophy and Doctor of philosophy.
