Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT), established by the Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES) is under the Archdiocese of Changanassery. LMIHMCT was established primarily to impart quality education in the field of Hotel management. Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES) wish to take the privilege of being one of the distinct industry leaders in hospitality management and consultancy. The college also wishes to house the Hospitality Research and campus recruitment centre. Institute aim is to deliver competent, skilful and quality professionals to the hospitality and related industries.

Laboratory

  • Basics of practical cookery with special emphasis on multi-cuisine is taught here to the students. Students are required to practice individual cooking and to familiarize with it to master the art. international cooking is taught in this lab. Modern techniques of cooking and presentation of food coupled with knowledge in hygiene, nutrition, cost control etc., are imparted here. Demonstrations and practicals are carried out with the help of advanced and sophisticated equipments.

Library

  • All the members of the staff and students of the college are entitled to use the library which has nearly 3600 volumes of books and more than 60 journals and periodicals, both Indian and foreign. The period of loan of book will be for 15 days including the day of issue. If the book is not returned on the 15th day a fine of Re 1/- per day, per book for the first week, Rs 2/- per day per book for the second week and Rs 10/- each for the subsequent weeks will be charged.   • Hostel facilities are provided separately for boys and girls. Girls' hostel is run by reverend sisters.

ExtraCurricular

  • A food festival named 'KATKALP' was organized in the month of September 2007. The concept of the festival was to have integration among south Indian states. Menus from various south Indian states were prepared by the students with the help of staff members. Also the ambiance and dress code were in par with the theme.
