Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya, a co-educational day College, affiliated to the University of Calcutta, was founded in Monirampore, under Barrackpore Sub-division of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, by Late Swami Jyotirmoyananda Giri Maharaj, in the sacred memory of his preceptor Late Swami Mahadevananda Giri Maharaj, on the auspicious day of Janmashtami, and the Independence Day, the 15th of August, 1968. It offers Bachelor of Art (General and Honours), Bachelor of Science (General in Bio and Honours), Bachelor of commerce (General and Honours) course.

Laboratory

  • The College is provided with a well equipped laboratories with computer facilities which meet the daily needs of practical classes of the students.

  • The college posses a stock of 13,387 books on different topics and subjects and a number of journals and periodicals in its spacious and computerised library. Endeavour towards its further enrichment is being and the lending section. The library of Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya has got an adjacent wide reading space. The students can also access Internet facilities in the library.

ExtraCurricular

  • The College obtained permission for NSS and enrolment of students is going on. Full-fledged activities of NSS will commence from the next academic session, under the supervision of a designated faculty member. The necessary permission for opening NCC and due selection of an NCC officer from among the teachers by the appropriate authorities has revived the opportunity of NCC training for the students from the new academic session.
