The Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy was established in 1997. The college imparts graduate and postgraduate courses in Physiotherapy. It is affiliated to the Nitte University and is recognised by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP). Located at the Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangalore, the Institute offers excellent facilities for practical training at the sophisticated multispeciality Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital.

Classroom

  • Classrooms are well ventilated and spacious and are equipped with audio-visual aids.

Laboratory

  • Well equipped, modern exercise and electrotherapy laboratories are available both for UG and PG classes.

Library

  • The college has an extensive library with the latest editions of medical and physiotherapy books, subscriptions to professional and popular periodicals, journals, Internet facilities, direct link with the Rajiv Gandhi University Consortium (Helinet) and an access to online journals. The library is kept open till late in the evening. The postgraduate students have their own section in the library where they can carry out their research work. The Institute also has an audio-visual library.

Hostel

  • The hostellers are provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and a chair. The hostels have a common telephone, TV room, visitors parlour, water coolers, generators etc. as well as equipment for games such as table tennis, carrom and chess are also provided to the boarders. Adequate care, welfare and code of conduct are ensured by resident wardens and senior staff members.

ExtraCurricular

  • Since we believe in the all round development of students, equal emphasis is laid on academics and extra-curricular activities. Several clubs like the Sports club, Cultural club, Multimedia club, Magazine club and Women"s wing have been set up by the college to bring out the best in students.
