Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences was established in 1992. It is one among the few reputed institutions offering nursing education in Karnataka. The College started with Diploma (GNM) and Graduate programs and in 2004, introduced Postgraduate programs. It is affiliated to the Nitte University and is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), Government of India. The School of Nursing, which is a unit of the Nitte Education Trust.

Laboratory

  • The College has well-equipped laboratories for practical training prior to hospital posting.

Library

  • The Institute has an extensive library with over 4,000 books. The college subscribes to 29 Indian journals, 11 foreign journals and has access to 1,086 e-journals through CINHAL and the Helinet. Besides, each department has a library and e-books to which students and faculty have easy access. The library is fully digitalised with open access system, reprographic facilities and the internet and is open to the students from 8 am to 6.30 pm. The campus has a leased line internet connectivity.

ExtraCurricular

  • A number of opportunities are provided for the students to develop their skills and talents at various levels. Students are encouraged to take part in various competitions at the intercollegiate, state and national levels as well as scientific exhibitions so as to promote and bring out leadership qualities in them.
