Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) was set up by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. RGIPT has been accorded the eminence of being an “Institute of National Importance” along the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). The Institute is empowered to award degrees in its own right and is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading Oil Public Sector Units (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL) in association with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB).The new campus of RGIPT is being established  in Jais, Distt. Rae Bareli (U.P.) .

Classroom

  • College provides air conditioned lecture rooms for its students. The classrooms of the college are well kit out with amenities like projector, green board, LCD, internet connectivity.

Laboratory

  • RGIPT institute emphasis on practical learning for which institute imparts world class labs for the students. The lab of the institute provides practical knowledge and assist learner in their projects and research. Institute has Exploration & Prospecting Lab, Petroleum Reservoir Engineering Laboratory, Drilling Fluid & Cementation Lab, Chemical Engineering Laboratory, Geo-Science Laboratory, Surveying Laboratory etc.

Currently, more than 5000 books, 35 printed journals, 20 magazines, online access to over 30,000 full text online journals are available in the library and internet facility is just like icing on the cake, which assist learner in accessing through online library resources such as Infraline, EBSCO, Emerald, Science Direct, Springer, Taylor & Francis, CMIE, One Petro, SEG, AAPG etc.

Placement

RGIPT imparts both summer internship and final placement for the students. The placement cell maintains a healthy relationship with top firms by organising seminars, summer internships, research projects, and on-campus and off-campus placements. Institute prepares its students by developing Personality, organising workshops and intensive preparatory training for interviews. Institute has its own well developed networked and promoters (ONGC, BPCL, IOCL, HPCL, GAIL, OIL and OIDB), who provides full assistance in placement activities to college and trained their learners for the industry.
