With a growth rate of over 8%, India is emerging as a global power. Two important contributors to India’s astounding growth power are ‘youth population’ and ‘educated society’. Keeping this in mind, RGNUL has formed its six members Internship and Placement Committee (IPC) in April, 2011. On 10th May, 2011, the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal inaugurated a fully equipped and well furnished Internship and Placement Cell and released the first Placement Brochure for the graduating batch, 2011. Two law firms have already visited the University Campus for placement and shortlisted 12 students from the graduating batch. Many other Law Firms, Companies, are scheduled to visit the campus shortly. The very object of the committee is to provide the students a planned transition from the University curriculum to a personal and professional setting in a students’ area of interest. It also helps the students in guiding and planning their practical training program mes and placement. Practical training forms a significant part of the academic curriculum in the university. The students of I to IX Semester have to undergo training under reputed NGOs, law firms, corporate offices, senior advocates, clerkship under the Honorable Supreme Court and High Court Judges and other related Public Sector undertakings. During the internship experience, the students can test the practical application of the theories of academic learning in the professional setting. During this period of Internship, students are required to conduct Legal Research, Draft Pleadings, Briefs,Opinions or other Legal Documents as required by the organisation. After the completion of the internship programmed , the students may, under the supervision of the IPC, participate in an interactive session with other batch mates and have a more comprehensive outlook as to the requirements and the needs of the work field as it practically exists.
