On the premise of many rounds of consultative conferences initiated by AUD, during which professionals from the field of education, NGO, other thinkers and specialists participated, the university determined to form a school, which is able to offer degree programmes and promote analysis within the space of business and management.
It was considered the most opportune time to develop a school which is able to address problems with the three interlinked areas, namely, business, public policy and social entrepreneurship during a holistic and integrated manner. The school was thus named the school of Business, Public Policy & Social Entrepreneurship (SBPPSE) which will interact in analysis and teaching of all three and can prior to later offer three degree programmes, namely, Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Masters in public Policy (MPP) and Masters in Social Entrepreneurship (MSE). It had been so, determined that AUD will mobilise resources to the beginning the 2-year full-time master's degree programme in july 2012, whereas the other two programmes will be launched within the next 3-5 years.
SBPPSE has signed MoUs with san francisco State University, California, USA and Northampton University, kingdom which is able to provide substantive opportunities for faculty and student exchanges and other cooperative work between the AUD and the two institutions.
All the classrooms are well furnished with all the modern facilities.
AUD library has specialized collection of more than 27661 books, 120 e-books, 107 national and international print journals, magazines and 19 leading online publisher’s journal database (more than 15000 full text itee-journals) in the area of humanities and social science. AUD Library has air-conditioned stack rooms and reading area for users. AUD library has computerized database of its resources as well as of users. AUD has hostel facilities for men at Dwarka Campus and for Women at Kashmere Gate Campus. Students can apply for hostel accommodation once they have secured admission. The application form and brochure for hostel accommodation will be available at the University Offices and on the AUD website at the time of admission.
AUD has also established a series of cultural societies to galvanise the intellectual and extracurricular life of students in the campus. There is a thriving Theatre Society, Sports Committee, Debating Society and Literary Society. The Economics Society and the Society for Visual Culture has also been activated. There are regular talks, lectures, screenings and performances in the campus and students are encouraged to participate in and organise events around them.
