School of Chemistry comprises four departments - Organic, Inorganic, Physical and Natural Products. Having a humble beginning as the Department of Chemistry, it has bloomed into a full-fledged School later with a faculty of 20 endowed with a rich teaching and research expertise in diverse frontier areas such as synthesis of novel molecules, bioinorganic mimics, biomolecules from natural sources, screening for important bioproperties such as anticancer, molecular modeling, EPR imaging, photo processes, molecular recognition studies, development of novel reagents and reactions, etc. This School provides a Choice Based Credit system for its M.SC. Course rendering flexibility to the curriculums to suit the individual needs of the students.
