The School of Natural Sciences (SNS) was established in 2011. It encourages practical learning and development of the personality of students through interactive workshops and internships each summer.

The School has modern facilities and also provides scholarships and other opportunities to students with meritorious performance. The School has collaborations with leading institutions in India and abroad that offer student and faculty exchange and dual/joint degree programs. Students are therefore exposed to latest developments in their field.

SNS consists of the following departments:

1. Mathematics: SNU’s mathematics department acknowledges that mathematical experts are in demand across all kinds of industries. A number of math careers are based within business or science and technology-related sectors, with math graduates occupying roles such as accountant, actuary, statistician, technician, economist or market researcher. Faculty members have expertise in areas like functional analysis, harmonic analysis, number theory, representation theory, quantum groups, graph theory, networks, encryption, numerical analysis, differential equations, probability, statistics, mathematical finance, mathematical biology and mathematics education.

2. Physics: The SNU Physics Department programmes are designed for students who wish to pursue a career in physics or who wish to use skills of a physicist to understand complex systems. Courses offered include

3. Chemistry: Chemistry forms the scientific basis for a wide variety of career options. Research in chemistry at SNU is currently ongoing or under active development in the following broad research areas like Catalysis, Chemical Biology, Cheminformatics, Chemistry of Nanomaterials, Computational quantum chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Molecular Toxicology, Polymer Chemistry, Structural Chemistry and Crystallography, Supramolecular Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Life Sciences.

4. Life Sciences: Life Sciences are helpful in improving the quality and standard of life. They have applications in health, agriculture, medicine, and the pharmaceutical and food science industries. Students are trained in interdisciplinary areas that include Cancer Biology, Vascular Biology, Malaria, Bioinformatics and Chem-informatics, Medical Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Drug design and Drug Development.
